This easy paint chip Santa Hat is a great Christmas craft for kids!
Thanksgiving is only days away, can you believe it?! Me either! I swear summer ended only a few days ago. Black Friday is this week and my kids are already making their Christmas lists and checking them twice. My children aren’t little anymore ::sniff sniff:: and we’re starting to gravitate away from toys. My youngest is still only 7 and she’s my baby. She’s still asking for toys: LOL Dolls are HOT this year as are Num Noms and always Lego Friends!
My oldest only wants gift cards and my middle kiddo is ALL about electronics: iPhones, Nintendo Switch, Beats and more. You name an expensive electronic and she wants it. Trust me though, we’re on a budget and even though my kids each have their own iPad (that we constantly police) they won’t be getting any major electronic gifts this year.
Even though the kids are getting older my girls still enjoy doing arts and crafts. I love that we can sit down together and make stuff. I always have paint chips on hand and my girls LOVE grabbing them for FREE at Home Depot, Lowes or our local hardware store. We don’t clear the shelf but I do sometimes grab a few of each color to have on hand for crafts. Paint chips are versatile and you can do so much with them!
A few weeks ago we sat down and made Santa Hat’s from red paint chips and white cotton balls. The girls loved helped making them and hanging them in their room as decorations. You could even connect them using twine and clear tape making a fun Santa themed garland to hang from your mantle as cute Christmas decor!
